I used to think the buildings in Europe were old until I went to Egypt. The pyramids at Giza date back to around 2500 BC and were used as tombs for Pharaoh Khufu and his family. For 200 Egyptian pounds, you can actually crawl (and you do have to literally crawl) into the burial chamber of the king. It’s a steep and claustrophobic climb ending in a largely anti-climactic room with an empty stone casing where the pharaoh’s body used to be. Still, who goes all the way to Giza and “doesn’t” climb into the Great Pyramid? Not this girl.
Oh yeah, there was a Sphinx too.
